Once upon a time, in a dense jungle, there was a large pond. Numerous fish lived in this pond, and among them, three fish were the best of friends. These three fish had completely different temperaments.
Two of them were very intelligent. The first one would take precautions for any danger even before it arrived, and the second one would ensure its safety when faced with a threat. On the other hand, the third fish believed that everything was dependent on destiny. It said that if trouble was destined to come, there was nothing they could do, and if it wasn’t destined, no one could harm them.
One day, a fisherman passing by noticed the pond. Seeing that it was teeming with fish, he immediately informed his fellow fishermen. The fishermen decided to come the next morning and catch those fish. However, the third fish had overheard the conversation between the fisherman and his friends. It quickly gathered all the other fish in the pond and informed them about the impending danger. The first fish suggested leaving the place before the fishermen arrived.
At this point, the third fish argued that if it wasn’t destined for them to face trouble, leaving wouldn’t make a difference. The second fish added, “What if the trouble doesn’t come tomorrow? This is our home, and we can’t just abandon it. If it’s in our destiny, we’ll face it anywhere, and if it’s not, nothing will harm us.” Some of the fish agreed with the third fish, and they chose to stay.
The next day, the fishermen arrived and cast their nets. The fish that had stayed were caught, while those that had heeded the warning managed to escape. The fisherman put the captured fish in a basket, and they all suffered a painful fate.
The fish that had escaped gathered later and realized the importance of taking action against an impending threat rather than relying solely on destiny.
Moral of the story: We should never solely rely on destiny. It’s crucial to think of ways to overcome challenges before they arrive.
