Once upon a time, a little girl lived in a village with her parents. She loved her grandmother more than her parents. Her grandmother lived on the other side of the village, which was next to the jungle. The little girl’s grandmother had once given her a red hood as a gift, which she always wore. Because of this, people in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood often visited her grandmother, spending most of her time there and then returning home. Her grandmother also liked Little Red Riding Hood very much.
One day, Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother suddenly fell ill, and she couldn’t visit her as often. This saddened her a lot. Then she learned that her mother was going to her grandmother with food and medicine. She hurriedly ran to her mother and asked, “Mom, for whom are you taking this food and medicine?”
To this, Little Red Riding Hood’s mother replied, “Dear, I am taking this food and medicine for your grandmother.” Upon hearing this, Little Red Riding Hood became happy and said to her mother, “Can I take this food and medicine to Grandma? I want to meet her.”
Little Red Riding Hood’s mother agreed and handed her a bag of food and medicine, saying, “Alright, you can go, but remember to take the right path and not to talk to strangers on the way.” Hearing this, Little Red Hood said, “Okay, Mom. I will go straight to Grandma’s house.” With these words, the little girl wore the hood given by her grandmother, bid farewell to her mother, and set out for the village on the other side of the jungle.
She continued along the jungle path. After walking a short distance in the jungle, the delightful aroma emanating from her basket awakened a sleeping wolf. The wolf’s eyes fell on the little girl. Seeing her, he felt joy inside and thought, “Oh, a little prey, but which way is she going?”
The wolf quickly reached Little Red Riding Hood and said, “How are you, dear child! Will you give me this delicious food to taste?” Upon hearing the wolf’s question, the little girl was initially scared, but then, trembling, she said, “Please forgive me. I cannot give you this food. I am taking it for my sick grandmother, who is alone.” After this, Little Red Riding Hood thought for a moment and, taking out an apple from her basket, handed it to the wolf, saying, “You can have this.”
The wolf took the apple from Little Red Riding Hood’s hand, thinking to himself, “Wow! Her grandmother is alone too. First, I’ll devour her grandmother, and then I’ll deal with her. But for now, I have to detain her.” After taking the apple, the wolf said to Little Red Riding Hood, “Oh, listen! Stop and listen to me. I know how your sick grandmother can be cured.” The little girl became happy and started saying to the wolf, “Really, but how? Can you tell me how she will recover quickly?”
The wolf replied, “Yes, yes… I will definitely tell you the way. For this, you need to pick some strawberries from the jungle. These strawberries have magical powers. When your grandmother eats them, she will recover instantly.” Hearing the wolf’s words, Little Red Riding Hood said, “Oh wow! Thank you very much. I will go and pick some strawberries right away.” Saying this, she went to pick strawberries.
On the other hand, the cunning wolf devised a plan to go to the grandmother’s house first. In fact, the wolf had thought carefully that he would devour the grandmother first and then the little girl. However, he needed to detain her until then. Afterward, the wolf told Little Red Riding Hood, “Hey, wait! Stop and listen to me. I know that your sick grandmother can be cured quickly.” Hearing this, the little girl became happy and started saying to the wolf, “Really, but how? Can you tell me how she will recover quickly?”
Upon this, the wolf said, “Yes, yes… I will tell you the way. For this, you need to pick some strawberries from the jungle. These strawberries have magical powers, and when your grandmother eats them, she will recover instantly.” Hearing the wolf’s suggestion, Little Red Riding Hood said, “Oh wow! Thank you very much. I will go and pick some strawberries right away.” Saying this, she went to pick strawberries.
Meanwhile, the sly wolf made a plan to go to the grandmother’s house first. In reality, the wolf had carefully thought that he would go to the grandmother’s house first, then eat her, and later deal with the little girl. Afterward, the wolf went towards the grandmother’s house. Upon reaching the grandmother’s house, the wolf saw her peacefully sleeping on the bed. As soon as he entered the house, the grandmother woke up, and upon seeing the wolf, she was shocked. She asked the wolf, “Why have you come here?” Upon this, the wolf said, “To eat you and your granddaughter.” After saying this, the wolf swallowed the grandmother.
Little Red Riding Hood, humming a song and carrying strawberries, reached her grandmother’s house. As she arrived, she knocked on the gate and said, “Grandma, I’m here. Quickly open the door. I have brought many things for you.” A voice from inside the house said, “My dear, the door is open. Come straight in.” Little Red Riding Hood was a bit surprised to hear her grandmother’s voice, which seemed different, but she thought that her voice might have changed due to her illness.
She opened the gate and entered the house. Here, she saw that the room was completely dark. She started calling out to her grandmother, “Grandma! Grandma! Where are you, and why is it so dark in the room?” In response, a voice from the room said, “Oh, my child, I have been sick for many days, and that’s why my body has become very weak.” Hearing this, Little Red Riding Hood entered, and then she said, “Alright! But why have your ears become so big? They were not like this before.” The wolf replied again, “Oh my child, I made my ears bigger so that I can hear your words clearly.”
After that, Little Red Riding Hood asked again, “So, Grandma, how did your eyes become so big?” In response, Grandma said, “My dear, it’s so that I don’t have difficulty seeing you.” Then Little Red Riding Hood asked, “Okay! Then why have your hands become so long?” To this, Grandma said, “These hands have become long to embrace you.” She further inquired, “So your teeth, why have they become so long?” To this question, the wolf came forward, saying, “So that I can turn you into my prey.” Saying this, the wolf jumped towards Little Red Riding Hood and swallowed her just like he did with Grandma. After that, the wicked wolf slept on Grandma’s bed and began snoring loudly.
At that moment, a woodcutter passing by Grandma’s house heard the loud snoring. He stopped upon hearing the noise and saw that the snoring sound was coming from Grandma’s house. He entered the house and found that the wicked wolf was sleeping on Grandma’s bed. He understood that the wolf had swallowed Grandma. The woodcutter immediately thought of a way to teach the wicked wolf a lesson. He brought a pair of scissors, cut open the wolf’s belly, and safely took Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood out. After that, the woodcutter placed a big stone in the wolf’s belly and sewed it back.
When the wolf came out of his belly, the little red hooded girl first asked her Grandma, “Grandma, are you okay? Did that wolf cause you any harm?” Grandma replied, “No, my dear! I am perfectly fine. Nothing happened to me.” After that, Grandma, Little Red Riding Hood, and the woodcutter hid behind the door, waiting for the wicked wolf to wake up.
A while later, when the wolf woke up from his sleep, he felt that his stomach was quite heavy. He thought that maybe he had swallowed Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood, causing his stomach to become heavy. After that, he went to the riverbank to drink water. As soon as the wolf bent down to drink water, he fell into the river. After the wolf came out of the water, Grandma, Little Red Riding Hood, and the woodcutter were very happy and returned to their home.
Upon reaching home, Little Red Riding Hood promised her Grandma that she would never talk to strangers again, and she also thanked the woodcutter for saving both her and Grandma’s lives. Then, all three of them spent the entire day happily together, enjoying themselves and eating chocolate cake.
