There was a bird living with her husband on a tree. The bird would sit in their nest all day, taking care of her eggs, while her husband arranged food for both of them. They were very happy and eagerly waiting for the eggs to hatch.
One day, while the bird’s husband was away in search of grains, a tipsy elephant stumbled by the tree and started breaking its branches. The elephant caused the bird’s nest to fall, resulting in all her eggs breaking. The bird was extremely distressed, feeling angry towards the elephant. When the bird’s husband returned, he found her sitting on a broken branch, crying. She narrated the entire incident to him, and he, too, felt deeply upset.
Both of them decided to teach the arrogant elephant a lesson. They went to their friend, a woodpecker, and explained the situation to him. He suggested that the elephant needed to be taught a lesson. He had two other friends: a bee and a frog. Together, they devised a plan to teach the elephant a lesson, which the bird liked very much.
According to the plan, the bee started buzzing into the elephant’s ears. When the elephant got lost in the sweet sound of the bee, the woodpecker came and pecked both of the elephant’s eyes. The elephant started screaming in pain, and just then, the frog arrived with its family and started croaking near a quagmire. Thinking there might be a pond nearby, the elephant wanted to drink water and got stuck in the marsh.
In this way, with the help of the bee, woodpecker, and frog, the bird avenged herself against the elephant.
Lesson from the story: Children, this story teaches us that unity and wisdom can overcome even the most significant difficulties.
